Peer-to-Peer

Peer-to-Peer - Protect Yourself
If you’re torrenting without going through any sort of proxy, then that means your IP address is directly visible to anyone when you connect them to download or seed a torrent. It basically means you have no security or anonymity whatsoever. To remedy this, it’s best to torrent through a VPN proxy service.

Peer-to-Peer - Contributing
In the world of P2P, contribution(seeding) is very important. It often controls how much others are going to seed to you as well as whether or not certain sites ban/block/disallow you from using their search engine because you’re not giving back. Take advice from someone who knows, learn to seed because it’s the right thing to do.

Peer-to-Peer - Downloading
P2P is really more of a network structure, or rather, a protocol than it is a tool or service, but often that’s what people see it as. When people think of all the programs they use to download files, they usually don’t associate that beneath the hood, most of what people use is all under the same concept or service: P2P. Though this is not always the case, as there are others out there like Usenet, which we’ll talk about in another series.

Peer-to-Peer - Introduction
Peer-to-Peer(also known as P2P) is one of the most known ways of sharing files across the internet. BitTorrent(also known as BT) is probably at the top of the list when it comes to sharing files, simply because of ease, no cost, and a highly dedicated community. It’d be a shame if you didn’t know how to use these tools because a lot of products actually now have a BT mirror to make downloading faster(and cheaper for them) because you’re collectively downloading from a large number of people.
